Tell us about yourself.
Hey, guys! I hope that you all are having a wonderful weekend. I’ve had a super busy week this week, going into a busy weekend! I always seem to be busy with one thing or another, but that’s better than being bored, right?
In case you’re not familiar with my work. I write suspense and paranormal romance. I have sneak peeks here on my website, if you’d like to check out some of my stories.
My Oak Grove Series is my first published work. Vengeance was released in September of 2016, Penance will be released February 7, 2017, and the third book in the series will be out later this year.
What can you tell us about your upcoming book?
Penance: An Oak Grove Suspense is book two in the Oak Grove Series. The series follows Detective turned Police Chief, Ryan Jacobs as he solves crimes in his hometown of Oak Grove. Each book will introduce a new characters while still keeping up with Ryan and family.
In Penance, we meet Judson Hardenbergh. Judson runs a construction company with his best friend, Grant. His life is in a great place personally and professionally, until a fire claims his family. Like anyone would, he falls in despair not caring what happens to his business or his own life. As a last hope he heads home to Oak Grove. Will his family be able to help him through this horrible time, or will he turn to deadly vices?
Ryan has the tough job of solving a crime implicating his childhood friend, Judson, of murder, and trying to find Mathis. He finds the balance between the two almost impossible, but he’ll do anything for the ones he loves, so he pushes through. But will he be able to solve the murder and find and capture Mathis before its too late?
What is the hardest part about writing this book?
Once you have the first book in the series completed, it gets a bit more challenging. You have to be sure that everything lines up and all the pieces fit. I don’t mind the challenge, but sometimes it got a bit overwhelming trying to make sure the timeline of events was on target. But I like a challenge.
What was the easiest thing about writing this book?
Ryan’s storyline I think. I loved showing him as a new daddy to Hannah, a husband to Shayla. It’s something very different for him. He’s, as always, a little short tempered when it comes to his families safety, but there’s a softer side to him. I think it shows more in Penance.
Who is your favorite character and why?
Laney. Ryan’s sister is a spitfire. It was fun to write her dramatics. She, just like her brother, is a little short tempered when it comes to the safety of those she cares about. So, watching her relationship with Judson and Ryan develop was a lot of fun.
Without giving any spoilers what do you think will surprise people most about this story?
That’s really hard to do without giving anything away, but I’ll just say
that Grant surprises me.
Can you tell us anything about book 3 in the series?
Nope. Just kidding. Book three will have a lot of action and suspense. We’ll hear from Shayla again and of course Ryan. I’m thinking there’s going to be a lot of anger and deceit. Very suspenseful. That was helpful, right? 😉
Will you have any signings this year?

I’ll have a local signing in March, but I’m still confirming the time and locations. I’ll post more info about it, as it is confirmed.

Any last words for readers?
Thank you for supporting me. I can’t tell you what it means to me to hear all the good things you’ve had to say about Vengeance. I hope you enjoy Penance and will leave me a review. As an indie writer, reviews are the most important way for us to get noticed. Feel free to share my page as much as you can, and don’t forget to sign up on my website. Thank you all for everything.
